All the Pharmacy Guild’s activities are committed, directly or indirectly, to achieving this vision.
Facts at a Glance
- Established in the 1930's to represent the interests of retail pharmacy.
- A nation-wide organisation with offices in Wellington.
- Each registered pharmacy in NZ is eligible for membership.
- A voluntary membership representing over 75% of community pharmacies.
- Members pay an annual subscription with provision for subscriptions to be paid quarterly.
- Governance is through an Executive Council made up of eight regional representatives plus a National President.
- In addition to the national structure there are four autonomous regional divisions; Northern, Midland, Central and Southern.
What We Do
The Pharmacy Guild provides member pharmacies and pharmacists with a diverse range of services designed to support and enhance the commercial and professional interests of community pharmacy.
The political, commercial and regulatory environment in which pharmacies operate is complex and constantly changing. Therefore when challenges and opportunities arise, community pharmacists will not always have the time, the resources or the specialised knowledge needed to act on their own. This is where the Guild steps in to provide advice, guidance and representation. The Guild is well equipped to deal with any issues or opportunities that may arise within the pharmacy environment and works hard to guarantee the success of community pharmacy.
The Guild is continually working to help community pharmacists streamline their businesses, achieve greater profitability and meet legislative and quality requirements whilst making the most of new opportunities.
