The Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand (the Guild) is pleased to announce the permanent appointment of Glenn Mills as Chief Executive, following his tenure as Interim Chief Executive since May.
Guild President, Kesh Naidoo-Rauf says “This was an important decision for our Board and one we approached very deliberately. We considered what the Guild needs from its Chief Executive and what will best serve our members and community pharmacy. When Glenn was appointed Interim Chief Executive, the Board set high expectations. Over the past few months, he has surpassed those expectations and demonstrated the leadership, capability and relationships needed to take the Guild forward.”
The appointment follows a significant period of change for the Guild, including an end-to-end governance review, a new Constitution and Board structure, and the appointment of three new Directors in June.
“Community pharmacy is facing significant challenges, but also some of the greatest opportunities we have seen in years. The Sustainable Funding Review, workforce pressures, expanding pharmacist scope and the changing way healthcare is delivered, all reinforce the need for a strong, credible and influential community pharmacy voice”, says Ms Naidoo-Rauf.
“As the peak body for community pharmacy in New Zealand, the Guild has an important responsibility to provide that voice. Glenn has already demonstrated his ability to build relationships, navigate complex issues and keep our organisation focused on the outcomes that matter for our members and the communities they serve.”
Guild Chief Executive, Glenn Mills says he is looking forward to continuing to lead the Guild.

Our members do extraordinary work every day, often under real pressure, and I'll keep pushing to make sure that's recognised and properly supported. There's plenty ahead, and I'm energised and looking forward to continuing this work alongside such a dedicated team", says Mr Mills.
